Muskies Announce Class of 2018 Commitments

2014 – 2015 Muskies Incoming Class
“We have been incredibly fortunate by the amount of interest in the program from the incoming class. It is a real tribute to the seniors who have built the program to this point. It’s humbling to know that we have been able to attract this much talent” said Coach Driscoll. “I am happy to say that our good fortune continued in early May and we added some more excellent talent” Driscoll continued. “We can now turn our attention to offseason conditioning and getting ready for the upcoming season. Competition breeds success and there certainly will be plenty of it come this fall. The goal tending battle will be especially interesting.”

Dan Wischerath: Wischerath is a graduate of Canisus High School in Buffalo, New York where he was a member of the State Championship team his junior year. Wischerath is a 6’ forward who comes to XU planning to study Business.

Zach MacMillan: MacMillan is a graduate of Avon Old Farms in Connecticut. Zach is a right handed forward who will play wing or center for the Muskies. While at Avon, he helped his team reclaim the coveted Rob Rust trophy serving as the team captain his senior year. Zach plans to earn his degree in Communication.

Ryan Collins: Collins is a graduate of Nouvel Catholic Central High School where he was both a varsity hockey and football player. He captained the hockey team for the last two seasons. Ryan had a stellar senior year tallying 22 goals and 25 assists. Collins is a righty who will play forward for the Muskies this fall and major in business.

Quinn Beiter: Beiter played his high school hockey for the Canisus Federated team out of Buffalo New York. Quinn, a defenseman, captained both his high school team and the Clarence Mustangs 18U team during the 2013 – 2014 campaign. He won the state Championship with the Mustangs this season. Beiter is a 5’ 7” 170 pounder who will study Business Management while at Xavier.

Peter Chopra: Chopra was the starting goalie on the St. Joseph Institute back to back State Championship teams. Chopra had an outstanding senior year that included being named 1st Team WNY, elected league MVP and posted a 1.58 GAA. Peter will study accounting while at Xavier.

Harlan Lovullo: Lovullo was a teammate of Chopra’s at St. Joes and will join the Muskies as a forward. Harlan was a two time winner of the NY State High School Hockey Championship. He was the recipient of the Coaches Award his senior year at St. Joseph. Harlan plans to earn is degree in accounting while at Xavier.

Nick Zenger: Zenger completes the trifecta from St. Josephs as he will be joining the Muskies as a forward. Like Lovullo and Chopra, Nick was a member of the back to back state champions for St. Joe Federated team. Zenger was an alternate captain and among the leading goal scorers on his squad. Nick is undeclared for his major at this time.

Nathan Tragessar: Tragessar is a local product from Springboro High School. Nate captained the Panthers during the 2013-2014 season which culminated in 100 career wins for his class. Tragessar was also named to the SWOHSHL All Star team. As a defenseman, Tragessar managed to tally eleven goals his senior year demonstrating he will be both an offensive and defensive weapon for the Muskies.

Connor Crory: Crory , who hails from Littleton CO, just finished up his high school playing career with the Center State Stampede, out of New York. Connor, a 5’ 11” lefty, will play forward for the Muskies. A 1st team All State player, Crory was also on the three time State Championship team prior to transferring to Center State. He will study Finance will at Xavier.

Colby Sassano: Sassano comes to Xavier from Peru, IL where he played for the Bloomington Sharks. Colby is a left handed forward who represented the Sharks in the Lincoln Land All Star Game this past season. Colby will major in Sports Management.

Tony Petretti: Petretti is from the Cleveland OH area where he played for the Medina Bees during his high school career. Tony’s team won the State championship his Junior year and went on to place third in Nationals. This past season, he was selected to the league All Star team as a defenseman. Tony will study finance at Xavier.

Connor Scherer: Scherer is the latest addition to the Muskies from St. Josephs Institute. Connor is another left handed forward who played for the NY State Catholic High School Hockey Championship team. Connor is a two sport athlete having played soccer for St. Joes as well. He will major in International Studies.
